Ayton did exactly what many young players tend to do while defending a shot

Denver Nuggets superstar Nikola Jokic made Portland Trail Blazers big man Deandre Ayton look foolish with the best pump fake, so far, of the 2023-24 NBA season on Sunday night at Ball Arena.

Jokic, 28, pretended like he was going to shoot a 3-pointer and Ayton simply put his hand up and looked at the rim to see if the shot fell. The only issue: Jokic pump faked him and simply drove to the rim for an easy two points.

Ayton, 25, did exactly what many young players tend to do while defending a shot. They turn their head to follow the show, which usually leads to a foul.

With 29 points, Jokic led all scorers as the Nuggets defeated the Trail Blazers for the second straight game. On Friday, they performed as well.

On Thursday, the Trail Blazers host the Detroit Pistons while the Nuggets travel to the Los Angeles Lakers.
