The Los Angeles Lakers needed Anthony Davis to be their leader on Wednesday night since LeBron James was out for the second night in a row.
Davis scored 17 points and grabbed eight rebounds in the third quarter, which helped the Purple and Gold beat the Utah Jazz 138–122 at the Delta Centre in Salt Lake City.
Davis had 39 points, 15 boards, 1 assist, and 1 block by the end of the game. Since January 9, when he scored 41 points, grabbed 11 boards, passed the ball six times, and blocked one shot, this was his best game.The Lakers’ win on Wednesday brought their record to 30-26, and even though their season has been up and down, they are still in the running for the playoffs.
NBA fans were quick to praise Davis for how well he played after the win; some even said he should be in the running for MVP:Davis is having a great season and was named to the All-Star team for the first time since the 2020-21 season. Before Wednesday’s game, he had shot 55.4 percent from the field and averaged 24.6 points, 12.1 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 1.1 blocks, and 2.5 blocks in 51 games.
The Lakers want to make a big push to finish the regular season and make sure they make the playoffs, so they will need Davis to stay fit and keep dominating games.
