Not long from now, LeBron James’s career will be over, but the Los Angeles Lakers star is still one of the best players in the game.
James has been giving Anthony Davis more responsibility and attention over the past few months, but he is still the Lakers’ main player every night. Even though he is old and has played a lot of games, James has been able to stay mostly healthy this season, which has helped Los Angeles stay in the playoff hunt.
There are, however, rumors going around that the King might be leaving the Lakers if they keep having trouble, even though many people in the organization still want to keep him. James hasn’t said anything in public that makes it sound like he doesn’t want to play for L.A. next season, but he also hasn’t said anything that makes it sound like he does want to leave Southern California.
According to Sam Amick, Anthony Slater, and Jovan Buha of The Athletic, Lakers owner Jeanie Buss and the rest of the team’s management have done everything they could to make sure James was happy with the team. That’s why they’re allegedly thinking about adding his son Bronny James in the offseason:
“A high-level team source says that the Lakers are also open to the idea of adding Bronny James next season. The person said that this stance comes from the fact that the company cares about James’s happiness.
There is no doubt that LeBron and Bronny want to play together in the NBA. If the 2024 NBA Draft goes their way, the two could very well stay in Los Angeles. After his health scare this summer, Bronny’s first season with USC got off to a late start. As he works to get back to full strength, his stock has taken a bit of a hit.
There are rumors that at least two teams think LeBron would take less money in free agency to play for them if they had Bronny on the team. The Lakers are still open to getting Bronny. It will depend on where Brady plays next season before LeBron makes his choice, but it still looks like he will stay in Los Angeles.
