Serbian star Nikola Jokic has felt a connection to Dallas Mavericks standout Luka Doncic since the latter joined the NBA. They constantly appear to have lighthearted moments on stage when they aren’t playing. Given that it is All-Star Weekend, they are both in Indiana for the game and other events. Fortunately, the new All-Star format has returned, pitting the West against the East. Doncic and Jokic are part of the West, which also includes LeBron James, Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, and Kawhi Leonard.
Luka and Joker’s friendship through the years
Given that they both come from the same region of what was then Yugoslavia, the affinity between the two players is strong. They appear to share a similar sense of humour. Compared to the sense of humour that exists in America. While Luka Doncic was speaking to the press, Joker approached silently behind him and poured some cold water down his back. Doncic immediately mumbled something in his native language, and Jokic moved away chuckling. That is the type of humour that these two share on a regular basis.
Tomorrow, these two will share the starting lineup for the West, and we can expect some great highlights. This season, Nikola Jokic appears to have a greater chance of winning the MVP title than the disqualified Joel Embiid. However, Luka Doncic has been a strong contender with the Dallas Mavericks this season. Another clear contender who has not been disqualified is Shai Gilgeous-Alexander of the Oklahoma City Thunder.
