While Steph Curry’s heyday is still here, enjoy it.
During NBA All-Star Weekend, the 35-year-old star guard for the Warriors was questioned if he still feels like he’s in his peak in a sit-down interview with ESPN’s Malika Andrews.
“I do,” Curry answered Andrews with assurance. “It definitely feels a little different after every game, where you have to put in a little extra preparation and recovery time.”
The four-time NBA champion is still putting up powerful performances even if Golden State is having a difficult 2023–24 NBA Season. The Warriors are now one game over.500 and are ranked 10th in the Western Conference.
Curry leads the Warriors in points and minutes per game with an amazing 28.0 points per game through 50 games this season. He also adds 5.0 assists and 4.4 rebounds in 33.5 minutes.
And Curry still sees himself as the same athlete who propelled himself into NBA history, despite the fact that his pregame and postgame routines now differ from what they did years ago.
Curry continued, “I believe I can still have the same kind of impact on the court that I’m used to, even though there are a few additional factors at play. “So yes, even if you have to be a little crazy to tell yourself who you are, I absolutely feel like I am [in my prime].
“As I mentioned before, I work really hard and am surrounded by people who are giving me so much energy that I feel like it keeps me going.”
Many inquisitive basketball fans would like to know when Curry will surpass his prime, but that day may not arrive anytime soon.
Continue to bask in the glory of one of the Golden State’s icons in the interim.
