Austin Reaves’ peaceful 300-acre farm life in Arkansas before signing a $54,000,000 contract with the Lakers

Austin Reaves has become a fan favourite in the two years since he joined the Los Angeles Lakers. The Lakers are getting ready for the start of the regular season next week. His ability to add something extra to the team’s style of play and his great three-point shooting have solidified his spot in the rotation.

He didn’t have an easy path to becoming famous as a part of the 17-time NBA champions, though. Reaves wasn’t picked up by any team before the Lakers picked him in the draft in the summer of 2021.

Before that, he was a teenager living on his mother’s 300-acre farm in Newark, Arkansas. There, he had to choose between farming and going after another career. Even though his mother’s Arkansas farm was very well set up, the young guard had no plans to become a farmer. The farm is shown in the following pictures:

In the end, he chose to become a professional basketball player. Austin Reaves was given a $54 million, four-year deal by the Lakers because of how important he is to their rotation.
