Devin Booker’s contemporary mansion in Arizona is a sure thing.
In the March issue of Architectural Digest, the 27-year-old guard for the Phoenix Suns revealed the doors to his desert haven, showcasing its ultra-sophisticated interiors and amazing design that gives the home the appearance of floating on water.
Regarding the latter, it appears he received a referral for design services from a very close person — his 26-year-old girlfriend Kendall Jenner.
Mother-son team Kathleen and Tommy Clements of Clements Design furnished the property. They also helped furnish Kendall’s Los Angeles residence and her mother Kris’s Hidden Hills, California estate, which were published in September 2020 and March 2019, respectively. A-list celebrities love the firm; it has collaborated with Jessica Alba and Ellen DeGeneres, among others.
“I consider myself fortunate to be surrounded by people with great style,” Booker stated to AD. “Whenever I walk into my friends’ homes, I’m like a sponge, asking questions and absorbing what I see.”
The design was also motivated by a road trip he and Kendall had through Arizona in the early stages of the Covid-19 outbreak.
“We went to Roden Crater and had an incredible experience there,” he remarks, alluding to James Turrell’s enormous art piece housed inside a volcano. He then bought an LED wall sculpture that is hanging in the dining room, one of the artist’s creations. He clarifies, “It’s one of my favourite parts of the home, having this beautiful piece of art that me and my guests can appreciate while enjoying a meal.”
One of Turrell’s pieces, a large glowing oval that was featured on AD’s cover, is also in Kendall’s home. “I’ve been a big fan of Turrell for ever. Jenner said at the time, “Kanye [West], who works with him, introduced me to his work.
Other notable features of Booker’s house are an outdoor fire pit, a guest house, and a swimming pool that was inspired by the island of Bali. The furniture that the Clements had constructed or sourced inside was designed to accommodate a frame the size of an NBA player. This includes a resized poker table and a 12-foot sofa that Booker and his buddies may congregate around in luxury.
In the last 1:11 of the second quarter, Curry and Kuminga combined for six baskets, giving Toronto a 64-61 advantage going into halftime.
Two minutes into the third quarter, Curry made a three-pointer to tie the score at 66-66. After Raptors backup centre Olynyk responded with a tip shot, Golden State took the lead for the first time since the game’s opening basket when Klay Thompson made a corner three with 9:02 remaining in the third. It was Thompson’s first points of the game.
After the break, Barnes remained inside and his absence was noticeable. Shortly after the Raptors revealed that the all-star forward would not be playing, Golden State exploded for a 12-point advantage.
With 35.1 seconds remaining in the third quarter, Toronto rookie Gradey Dick converted an alley-oop pass from D.J. Carton into a 180-degree slam, trimming the Warriors’ lead to 93-83. Curry scored nine points in the third quarter, all of which were from three-pointers, as Golden State defeated the hosts 32–19.
Warriors head coach Steve Kerr let his bench to sustain his team’s lead during Curry’s five-minute absence in the opening frame of the game. When Curry returned to the court, Raptors supporters welcomed him back with open arms.
In that brief period, he scored two more points as Golden State’s lead grew to 16 points in the fourth quarter.
