The NBA announced (Twitter link) that Jayson Tatum of the Celtics and Luka Doncic of the Mavericks have been chosen the Players of the Month for the games played in February.

The winner of the Western Conference, Doncic, is still putting up incredible numbers in 2023–24. In 11 games played last month, he averaged 33.4 points, 9.6 rebounds, 10.3 assists, and 1.8 steals on.517/.398/.787 shooting (37.2 MPG).

In February, he assisted in leading Dallas to an 8-3 record; however, the Mavs have since suffered two consecutive losses and are currently sitting at 34-27, good for the eighth seed in the Western Conference.

Tatum, on the other hand, led the way for a 9-1 Boston squad in February, averaging 36.0 MPG on.480/.351/.887 shooting for 27.2 PPG, 8.9 RPG, 6.7 APG, and 1.1 SPG.

Tatum, who was also awarded Player of the Month for October and November, is the first player to win the award more than thrice this season. With the Celtics presently 48-12, the top seed in the East (and the NBA), the 26-year-old looks poised for another all-league berth in 2023–2024 after earning spots on the All-NBA First Team each of the previous two seasons.

According to the NBA, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Jalen Brunson, Donovan Mitchell, Pascal Siakam, Myles Turner, and Franz Wagner were nominated in the East, while Kevin Durant, Anthony Edwards, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Kyrie Irving, LeBron James, Nikola Jokic, and Domantas Sabonis were the other nominees in the West (Twitter links).
