The Golden State Warriors gave their fans twice as much happiness on Thursday night as they had been lacking lately.
The Warriors overcame the Denver Nuggets 113-102 to win their second straight game in nearly a month. And you did find it charming, after all.
On the other hand, you might have been even more amused by what happened before the game.
Here is a synopsis of it. Ten-year-old PJ O’Byrne travelled to Denver on Monday to watch her favourite player, Steph Curry, play for the Warriors in a make-up game for one that had been postponed. But there was a catch: the Warriors had told Curry to return to San Francisco so he could recover for their Tuesday matchup with the Clippers. Curry wasn’t even inside the structure, much less on stage, entertaining his adoring young fan.
Every second of O’Byrne’s reasonable and understandable sadness was captured on camera.
The Warriors gave O’Byrne and her family courtside seats to Thursday’s game as a surprise after the video went viral. However, Curry was excited to speak with O’Byrne face-to-face prior to the game after hearing the tale.
A little fan is surprised by Stephen Curry during a Nuggets and Warriors game.
