Despite failing to score 30 points in seven games, Luka Doncic finished with 27 points and a triple-double, and the Dallas Mavericks defeated the Chicago Bulls 127-92 on Monday night.

Despite finishing with 12 rebounds and 14 assists, Doncic left the game halfway through the fourth quarter, ending his NBA record string of six consecutive 30-point triple-doubles.

Daniel Gafford extended his streak of consecutive made shots to 28 by going 9 for 9. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, it is the longest since the NBA started keeping track of play-by-play information in 1996–97. He scored 20 points in total.

Dallas defeated Chicago by a score of 28 in the first quarter, with Doncic setting the tone. The Mavericks handed the Bulls their most decisive defeat while allowing a season-low number of points to be scored.

After losing three straight, the Mavericks won their third straight with 22 points from Dereck Lively II and a shooting percentage of almost 55%.

With 17 points, Onuralp Bitim lead Chicago. The Bulls lost their second consecutive game as a result of being outworked from the outset by DeMar DeRozan and Nikola Vucevic, who both scored 13 points.

The Mavericks jumped out to a 62-42 advantage and set season lows for points allowed in the first quarter and first half. They took the first quarter leading 44–16 over Chicago.

With 15 points, 9 assists, and 8 rebounds in the first half, Doncic almost missed a triple-double. In the first quarter, he scored 15 points, pulled down six rebounds, and assisted six times.

After Lively’s dunk, Dallas outscored Chicago 19-2 over the last 3:45 of the game. During that period, Doncic scored eight points and sank two 3-pointers, one of which was a step-back shot from beyond the arc in the last minute of play.

In the final seconds of the game, Josh Green of Dallas made it a 28-point affair when Coby White’s three-point attempt for Chicago rimmed out.
