Not long after Anthony Davis signed a $190 million deal with the Lakers, he spent a big chunk of his newfound wealth on a brand-new house in Los Angeles. A story from The Real Deal said that the man from Chicago paid an unbelievable amount of money for a mansion in Bel Air Crest, a guard-gated neighbourhood in the mountains between Bel Air proper and the San Fernando Valley.
Bel Air Crest was built between the late 1980s and early 1990s. It has about 200 homes, most of which are Mediterranean-style houses with private driveway gates. Some other well-known people who live in Bel Air Crest are Gordon Ramsay, Kathy Gryphon, Kim Kardashian, and Kanye West. West stayed there while he built his huge Hidden Hills estate.

The public record shows that Davis got a $20,1 million loan and paid exactly $31 million for his new home. He never sold his house. The house in question is the biggest and fancier in the whole neighbourhood. It has about 20,000 square feet of living space and sits on a 3.5-acre point with stunning views of Catalina Island and the Pacific Ocean.
Records show that the eight-bedroom, nine-and-a-half-bathroom house was built in 2010 for a local family named Chang. The perfectly balanced building, which could be best described as a mix of International-style and European-influenced chateau-style interpretations of the White House, was sold in 2016 for a precise $10 million to Ted Foxman, a retired chip executive who now builds homes. Foxman then spent even more money to fully repair the property. Both the interiors and the grounds were fully restored, making the space much greener and livelier than it had been before.
Foxman also let his decorative side run wild with the house, adding bright splashes of colour and even parking an old Porsche 356 in the living room, which was painted a lovely blue colour. Elle Decor released pictures of the results of his work last year. They were overseen by Lonni Paul, a Los Angeles-based interior designer.
The double-height entrance has a huge dome on top of it that makes the inside feel like a solarium. There are many private rooms, such as a music room for guitar jams, a games room with a wet bar, a wine cellar, a movie house and a music room. The 120-foot-long Olympic-sized pool and the breathtaking view are the property’s main draws, even though the house is very big. There is also a full-size tennis court, an endless lawn, and a cabana by the pool.
Davis used to own a house in Westlake Village. He bought it in 2018 for $7.5 million and sold it in 2020 for a shocking loss of $1 million. Foxman made more than three times as much money when he sold the house in Bel Air to Davis, but that’s before taxes and repair costs. He now lives in a $13.8 million mansion in Encino with a basketball court and 13,000 square feet of living space.
