Golden State’s Stephen Curry scored 31 points when he came back into the game, and Klay Thompson scored 26 points off the bench. In a very important Western Conference game on Saturday night, the Warriors beat the Los Angeles Lakers 128–121.
LeBron James of the Lakers scored 40 points, passed the ball nine times, and grabbed eight rebounds. The bad news is that Anthony Davis hurt his eye and had to miss the last three quarters.
The Warriors beat the Thunder in extra time after the game went into extra time because of a broken clock and two replay reviews. One of the reviews overturned what looked like a 3-pointer by James. This put the Warriors one percentage point ahead of the Lakers and in ninth place in the West.
Trayce Jackson-Davis of Golden State poked Davis in the left eye as Davis went to the basket for a layup with 2:47 left in the first quarter. It was then that Davis quit playing. His eye was shut when he got to the changing room.
The Lakers said the player had an eye bruise.
Davis was hurt, so Golden State had a lot of control inside and could drive to the basket a lot. They got six more boards than the Lakers and scored 62 points in the paint, while the Lakers only scored 54.
Green missed the last game because of back pain, but he still had six points, 12 boards, and 13 assists. It was Jonathan Kuminga who scored 23 points for the Warriors.
Russell helped the Lakers lose their last two games. He scored 23 points and had 13 assists with them.
