Over the weekend, Patrick Mahomes switched from the NFL to the NBA, praising Kyrie Irving’s “greatness” and trading jerseys with Luka Doncic following the Dallas Mavericks’ thrilling victory over the Denver Nuggets.
After winning his third Super Bowl ring with Kansas City in February, the 28-year-old quarterback for the Chiefs was at American Airlines Center on Sunday to watch the No. 7-seeded Mavs play the NBA champions. As the first seed in the West, the Nuggets presently trade places with the Oklahoma City Thunder every day.
During the game, Mahomes wore a blue Louis Vuitton shirt from Dallas and sat courtside with his wife Brittany, who wore white boots with an all-denim Canadian Tuxedo.
They witnessed Doncic and Irving score a combined 71 points between them.
With 2.7 seconds left, Irving scored 24 points, including a successful left hook shot from 20.1 feet away, while Doncic scored 37 points, nine rebounds, and three assists.
The Mavs’ point guard added nine assists and seven rebounds.
Magnificence, Dawg. When they reunited in the tunnel following the game, Mahomes said to Irving, “Greatness.”
Sure, sir,” Irving answered.
Following Irving’s incredible game-winning basket, Mahomes also rushed over to congratulate Doncic, giving the Mavs star a signed Chiefs jersey with his name and number on the back.
“Excellent match, dude,” he said to Doncic, before bringing up the playoffs, which begin on April 20.
I wish you well as you leave. I am going to return here. Of course, man, thanks for that.
Originating from Tyler, Texas, which is 1.5 hours east of Dallas, Mahomes was also spotted at a Mavs-Lakers game the previous season following his second Super Bowl ring victory with the Chiefs.
