Anthony Davis arrives at Dodger Stadium to throw out the ceremonial first pitch for Lakers Night

Anthony Davis has settled down in Los Angeles.

Davis threw out the ceremonial first pitch for Lakers Night on Tuesday night before the Dodgers beat the Toronto Blue Jays 16-3 at Dodger Stadium. After the pitch went over the plate and into closer Kenley Jansen’s glove, the 26-year-old was beaming:

In a music video for Lakers Night on August 8, Jansen asked Davis to come throw out the first pitch. Cody Bellinger, a candidate for National League MVP, left Davis before he took the mound:

Since the Lakers and the New Orleans Pelicans made a huge deal in the middle of June, the 26-year-old All-Star forward has been living in L.A. Before that, Davis played for seven years with the Pelicans, who picked him first overall in the 2012 draft.

Davis talked to the press about how he felt after the trade during his first press meeting in the middle of July.

If you asked me if I felt relieved when I heard I was being moved, I would say no. It was just something I had been thinking about for a long time. It was obviously hard for me to leave the place where I had played for seven years, but when I heard I was going to be traded to the Lakers, I saw it as an amazing chance to be here.

Davis also said that he wanted to “bring a championship here.”

The Dodgers have been to the last two World Series and lost both times. The Lakers, on the other hand, haven’t been to the NBA playoffs since the 2012–13 season.

Now that Davis is playing with LeBron James, it makes sense to wonder whether the Dodgers or the Lakers will bring a title to L.A. first.
