Some of LeBron James’s old signature boots are getting a lot of attention from fans, who look forward to seeing him play. The Nike LeBron 4 was released in 2006 and is still thought to be the best LeBron James Nike original shoe because of how it looks on the court and how it was designed. The shoe looks scary, is very stylish, and fits King James exactly.

At that time, the LeBron 4 was the most durable basketball shoe on the market. But in the 2010s, low-cut, light basketball shoes became popular because they were comfortable and easy for everyone to wear. Like, when it came out in 2012, the Nike Kobe 8 weighed only 9.6 ounces. The Nike LeBron 4 is very heavy—19.5 ounces, to be exact—so it’s not surprising that only James could fly with them on.

Still, the classic look is still good, and we’ve already seen a bunch of Nike LeBron 4s that are set to retro. James just brought back the “Anthracite” colorway of the LeBron 4, and now the “Fruity Pebbles” version is also on its way. When it comes out next, the Nike LeBron 4 will have the always-popular “Eggplant” shade for the first time.

People first heard of the “Eggplant” colorway in 2009, when NBA great Penny Hardaway wore it on the Nike Air Foamposite One. The shiny and deep purple colors of the shoes, which looked like the parts of an eggplant that change color, made them a hit right away. After that, a lot of shoes have come out in the eggplant color, and Adidas even made a shoe for Anthony Edwards that looks a lot like this one.

The actual name of the Nike LeBron 4 “Eggplant” is Black/Varsity Purple-Blue Tint, and the shoe will have an icy blue translucent outsole. The top of the shoe is made of molded leather, and the whole thing is either purple or black. The Nike LeBron logo will be blacked out, and the ankle straps will be made of black suede. The base is made of rubber and will be a deep purple color that looks black in some lights.

The eggplant colorway looks great on this shoe, and it has some of the same features as the original Nike Foamposite One. These are sure to be another hit for LeBron James as he keeps adding to his collection of old shoes.
