CHAMPION SPEAKING: Luka Doncic scores 28, Mavericks rout Kings 132-96

The Dallas Mavericks won their fifth straight game on Tuesday night, defeating the Sacramento Kings 132-96 thanks to 26 of Luka Doncic’s 28 points in the first half.

The Mavericks moved up to sixth place in the Western Conference, one game ahead of the Kings, as both clubs attempted to escape the play-in tournament. Doncic added 11 rebounds, six assists, and three steals.

Tim Hardaway Jr. scored 22 points off the bench, and Kyrie Irving finished with 24 points and eight assists.

With 18 points, De’Aaron Fox led the Kings, although he was only able to shoot 6 of 18 times. Keegan Murray contributed 17.

Domantas Sabonis tied Jerry Lucas for the longest double-double streak in franchise history with his 55th consecutive double-double, which included 12 points, 11 rebounds, and 9 assists.

Doncic helped Dallas take a 58-53 advantage into the half with 19 points he scored in the second quarter.

There was 4:31 remaining in the third quarter when the Mavericks extended their lead to 89-65 with a 22-4 run. Dallas outscored Sacramento 74-43 in the second half after taking a 39-point lead in the fourth.

With 22 of their 39 3-pointers made, the Mavericks shot 55.4% from beyond the arc, setting a season-high 56.4% mark.

Sacramento was only able to shoot 38.9%, finishing 0-9 when they were unable to score 100 points.
