‘I’m a Texas Rangers fan’ Luka Doncic’s New MLB Team of Choice

A new Texas Rangers fan has emerged.

Dallas Mavericks player Luka Dončić wore a Texas Rangers cap during his press conference after the team’s 120-112 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday, much to the delight of Dallas-Fort Worth sports fans.

To dispel fans’ skepticism, Dončić confirmed the act’s authenticity.

Dončić answered, “Yes, DK turned me into a Texas Rangers fan.” “It was DK, who I think is the most important person in our organization.”

“DK” is an acronym for Don Kalkstein, the Mavericks’ head of sports psychology. Kalkstein managed Rangers performance enhancement from 1995 until 2005. For seven years, he performed a similar role for the Boston Red Sox.

Dončić has become one of the NBA’s brightest young stars. The 23-year-old native Slovenian has already been selected three times for the All-Star team and twice for the All-NBA team. The 2018–19 NBA Rookie of the Year is rated 10th all-time with 46 triple-doubles in his career. In the Mavs’ most recent victory over the Lakers, Dončić tied basketball legend Wilt Chamberlain for the fifth-most 30-point triple-doubles in NBA history.

The Rangers welcomed Dallas Cowboys star Dak Prescott to Globe Life Field the prior season and gave him a personalized shirt. Given Dončić’s ardent support for the Rangers, it seems likely that he will soon make an appearance in Arlington.

Of course, there is a good chance that Dallas fans would rather to wait until June, following the NBA Finals.
