D’Angelo Russell shares son Riley’s adorable gesture as Lakers star breaks franchise record

Laura Ivaniukas, boyfriend of LA Lakers star D’Angelo Russell, shared on Instagram a cute thing their son Riley did to honor Russell breaking a Lakers’ club record. Laura shared the Lakers’ Instagram post again on her story. It showed their son wearing a handmade jersey that showed off his dad’s new record.

D’Angelo Russell made his 184th three-pointer of the 2023–24 season with 6:15 left in the first quarter of the LA Lakers’ game against the Philadelphia 76ers on Friday. It was the club record for most three-pointers made in a single season.

Nick Van Exel’s record of 183, set in 1995, was broken.

Russell talked about what he had done and how he wanted to add to the record to make it harder for the next person in an interview after the game.

“This is one of the most prestigious franchises, so just having my name on it makes me feel more than grateful and blessed,” Russell said.

“I just want to break it again and again if I can, make it really hard for the next person.”

Russell has always been a good three-point shooter, but this season he is shooting 42.3% from beyond the line, which is the highest percentage of his career, and he makes three of them per game on average.
