How LeBron James’ love of basketball and being raised by a single mother inspired the Lakers star’s just-released children’s book

Following “I Promise,” aimed at toddlers, the Lakers star released a new book for middle schoolers that draws on his personal story to convey his message.

LeBron James continues his work advocating for youth education. After the first comic book titled “I Promise”, a new work titled “We Are Family” for middle school students was launched on the market last week.

The King takes inspiration from his journey and this time tackles deeper themes, including being raised by a single mother, a theme we find in this story written with Andrea Williams.

“I believe that children need inspiration and hope to achieve their dreams,” LeBron James recently expressed. “In college, there’s a lot of living and studying, and I went through all those feelings of stress and uncertainty about so many things at such a young age, just like the kids in the show. “I PROMISE” today. With this book, we want to continue sharing the message that even when it feels like life is throwing a bunch of obstacles at you, if you work hard, if you You believe in yourself and the people around you, and if you never let anything get in your way, everything will be okay.”

Therefore, LeBron James imagined the story of young man Jayden, who, like him, comes from a single-parent family and is passionate about basketball. Therefore, the main character joins his friends to grow in a group and fulfill his goal: to save his team’s season.

“He wants to do everything he can to succeed in basketball because it is his passion, but more than that, it is his way of giving back to his mother and family, who have sacrificed everything. so he can be successful,” LBJ continued. “Growing up in the inner city, my motivation was my mother and my ability to care for her. But I know I can’t do it alone. Like Jayden, I have a group of friends and mentors who are like family and have made me who I am today.”

It’s also a message of hope to the next generation because LeBron James believes he is living proof that the wildest dreams can come true. “Today I sit here to tell you that every dream can come true. You just have to do your best.”
