It goes without saying that Steph Curry and Draymond Green have a great bit of history together. putting themselves on display. rejuvenating the Golden State Warriors. achieving awards. Together, they created All-Star Games. the title of victorious one. Then another, and still another. Then another, and still another. Then another, and still another.
Green, Curry, and Klay Thompson are the three players on the roster with the highest cumulative pay from a single team. As a result, the bonds are strong.
It was therefore not surprising that Curry wanted to talk about Green’s most recent chapter in his career, which included hitting Jusuf Nurkić in the face, getting sent off for the third time this season, receiving an indefinite suspension, and announcing that he would be seeking counseling and that he must grow and adapt.
On Thursday, Curry was questioned concerning his longtime teammate. Steph didn’t think twice to voice her agreement that Green’s actions from the prior season, which included choking Rudy Gobert and hitting then-teammate Jordan Poole, are unacceptable. Still, he gave his teammate the support one might expect, believing that Green could grow, change, and come back a better guy.
In response to a question concerning Green’s expected personal growth, Curry said, “I’m really confident in his ability to do that.” “And the main topic of conversation yesterday was his admission that he cannot complete the things he has been completing. That is something he knows. That is something we know. That is known to all. Determining what it means to change, in my opinion, is the first step in finding the answer. We appear to be following that course right now. I think that either more time has gone since the last ban or the circumstances have obviously changed. You must take a backseat and make sure that everyone is handled equally. Draymond has his own mountains to climb, but no matter how long it takes, I have trust that he will succeed.
As I mentioned on Thursday, the benefit of a lengthy suspension is that Green and the Warriors can focus on his rehabilitation instead of having to bear a short sentence before picking up where they left off. It seems that everyone agrees that Green needs to change his conduct and mature over time. And it seems like everyone, even the Warriors’ rivals, is in favor of it.
