Enjoy Steph Curry’s peak while it lasts.
In a sit-down interview with ESPN’s Malika Andrews at NBA All-Star Weekend, the 35-year-old star guard for the Warriors was asked if he still felt like he was at the top of his game.
With confidence, Curry said to Andrews, “I do.” “Every game feels a little different, requiring a little more preparation and recuperation time,” the player said.
The four-time NBA champion is still producing strong games despite Golden State’s challenging 2023–24 NBA Season. The Warriors are now 10th in the Western Conference and one game above.500.
Curry has amassed an incredible 28.0 points per game through 50 games this season, leading the Warriors in both minutes per game and points scored. In 33.5 minutes, he also contributes 5.0 assists and 4.4 rebounds.
And even if his pregame and postgame rituals have changed over the years, Curry still views himself as the same player who catapulted himself into NBA history.
Curry went on, “Even though there are a few more variables at work, I think I can still have the same kind of impact on the court that I’m used to.”So yeah, I really feel like I am [in my prime], even if you have to act a bit crazy to convince yourself who you are.
“I feel like it keeps me going because, as I’ve already mentioned, I work really hard and am surrounded by people who are giving me so much energy.”
When Curry will go beyond his prime is a question that many curious basketball fans want to answer, but it might not happen anytime soon.
Meanwhile, keep basking in the grandeur of one of the Golden State’s icons.
