“No,” shrugs Doncic. His age doesn’t permit it.

The Mavericks’ best player is also the face of the franchise.

Doncic is at the top of the team in three categories heading into the final 25 games of his rookie season: points (20.7), rebounds (7.2), and assists (5.6).

The 6’7″ guard/forward leads the squad in 3-point shooting (35% on 2.4 attempts per game).

The stats are startling for anyone, let alone a 19-year-old competing against the finest in the world. And many of the greatest in the world see something special in Doncic:

“LeBron James.”

What was it like playing against LeBron for the first time?

“It was special,” Doncic smiles. “I was kind of nervous. It was the first time I was kind of nervous. I wasn’t nervous for my first game in the NBA, but I was when i played LeBron.”
