Steve Curry and Klay Thompson can be seen shaking their heads in dissatisfaction each and every time the referee ejects Draymond Green. Fans of the Golden State Warriors are angry about the state of affairs because many of these ejections are completely preventable. However, Draymond Green finds himself in confrontations with opponents on a regular basis; not much can be done to stop him. Green recently invited Klay to talk about anything and anything on his podcast. However, ‘Money’ desired a public reprimand from his teammate. His strategies were unsuccessful because Klay revealed why he and Stephen Curry shake their heads each time Drayond Green is sent off the court.
As Klay put it: “It feels like a part of us is missing when you’re not around. And Steph [Curry] and I are two incredibly lovely guys—possibly too nice. No, because without you, we’ll never be able to be who we are and enjoy the freedom we do on the court. It’s like a big chink in the armor when you’re not out there. Furthermore, I’m sure the opposing team is relieved that you’re not playing. Although it hurts, we’ve faced a lot of challenges in the end. After descending the mountain, we arrived at the summit. We had to retrace our steps to reach that location. We now have a second, genuine chance at this. Thus, it hurts. Even while it can be discouraging in the time, it won’t diminish what we’ve accomplished or what lies ahead. In the end, all we really need is you.”
Draymond Green was unprepared for Klay Thompson’s response, even if he was hoping for something else. Thompson took a more positive stance on the issue rather than punishing him harshly for the frequent ejections. That might enable Green to make wiser choices when the chips are down. Thompson gives a very insightful remark that encapsulates the kind of teammate he is. Winning teams usually require tough, defensive players like Dennis Rodman or Draymond Green. Klay appreciates Draymobd’s abilities beyond everything else because he is well aware of this.
