In what way is a first NBA title celebrated? If you were Giannis Antetokounmpo, you would get a new watch for yourself.

The leading player for the Milwaukee Bucks arrived at the team’s parade on Thursday morning wearing a brand-new wristwatch, a Rolex Sky-Dweller. Over the previous year, the Finals MVP has demonstrated that he is somewhat of a watch fanatic, and this most recent watch just serves to confirm that impression.
Antetokounmpo has remarkably sophisticated taste in watches, in contrast to other NBA players who like ostentatious, iced-out models or gaudy brands like Richard Mille or Jacob & Co. Despite his youth, he’s already amassing perhaps one of the most prestigious watch collections in his sport.
Giannis Antetokounmpo’s Incredible Selection of Watches
Even though NBA players hardly dislike Rolex watches, the Sky-Dweller is a bit of an odd choice. It’s undoubtedly one of the most underappreciated timepieces the well-known Swiss company makes, and it suggests that Antetokounmpo approaches watch collecting more thoughtfully than many of his competitors.
It’s a sophisticated timepiece that costs $14,800. In addition, Michael Jordan—arguably the greatest NBA player of all time—favors this particular watch.
One of Rolex’s newest models, the Sky-Dweller is one of the biggest and most unique timepieces available, and it was just released into the market in 2012. This unique combination of a dress watch and a tool watch—Rolex’s first and only annual calendar wristwatch—that also happens to have dual time zones is something that many of their customers overlook.
The Sky-Dweller has a working Rolex fluted bezel, which is recognizable from watches like the Day-Date. The “Ring Command Bezel,” as it is known as Rolex, is used to change the date, month, and two time zones in addition to the screw-down crown.
In contrast to many of Rolex’s other timepieces, the Sky-Dweller is entirely made of precious metal (particularly, gold) or has some sort of steel and gold mix. It has never been available in plain stainless steel. For instance, Giannis’ Sky-Dweller is constructed from “White Rolesor,” which combines 18ct white gold with Oystersteel, the brand’s iconic material, and an Oystersteel bracelet.
In addition to winning the Bill Russell MVP Award for his performance in the Bucks’ 2021 NBA Finals victory, Antetokounmpo also picked up his Sky-Dweller to commemorate the occasion.
