Luka Doncic became the first player in Dallas Mavericks franchise history to achieve this feat after an incredible NBA regular season.

After the regular season concluded, Luka Doncic’s argument for winning the MVP award in 2024 was strengthened, capping an incredible NBA season with the Dallas Mavericks. 



Luka Doncic had an incredible season, averaging nearly a triple double with 33.9 points, 9.2 rebounds, and 9.8 assists per game. 

The Dallas Mavericks, who missed out on the NBA Playoffs in 2023, made a comeback to the postseason thanks to his outstanding efforts this season, which secured them the fifth seed in the Western Conference. In doing so, Luka Doncic broke a Dallas Mavericks franchise record that great players like Dirk Nowitzki and Jason Kidd were unable to match.

During the NBA regular season, Luka Doncic averaged 33.9 points and finished as the league’s top scorer. 

This is the first time in NBA history that a Dallas Mavericks player has topped the league’s scoring rankings at the end of the regular season. 

Luka Doncic strengthened his case to win NBA MVP with 47 games in which he scored at least 30 points, five rebounds, and five assists throughout a record season.

Luka Doncic was placed third in the NBA’s final MVP rankings, behind Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander of the Oklahoma City Thunder. The NBA MVP will be chosen by the NBA players between April 16 and April 19.
