One of the NBA’s most endearing superstars, Nikola Jokic exhibits this quality both on and off the court. The two-time MVP has modified his wardrobe to better match the sophistication with which he plays each night.
The Denver Nuggets center is praised for his outstanding performances as well as his contributions to fashion. Jokic’s current guiding principle appears to be to dress well, to feel good, and to play well.
“Now I’m 27-28 years old, maybe I wanted to look more serious.” Jokic admitted on his 28th birthday
The way of dressing as a brand
Many benefits can result from this, in addition to the fact that a person feels better when he or she is well-trained and takes care of themselves; at least, that is what the 27-year-old center observes.
Although we shouldn’t judge a book by its cover, sometimes it happens that we make prejudices exclusively related to appearance. And Jokic wants to make his appearance more representative and recognizable.
“People perceive you differently, people approach you differently. At the end of the day, maybe a more serious sponsorship contract will come, just because of your appearance and just because you look professional and represent yourself in the right way. I think it’s a nice change in my life.” Jokic stated in his interview with Arena Sport TV
“The way you come to the game helps both with the brand and with you, especially since I have already won the award (MVP) twice.”
Dress for success
The Joker takes the proverb “Dress for success” very seriously. And as proof of this, he recently thought about how the majority of players in the league now dress. Jokic claims the players’ clothes are inappropriate and that he looks like he went to work like someone with a “regular” job. This same level of commitment and professionalism comes through in his playing.
