Even though Stephen Curry has carried a lot of the load for the Golden State Warriors this season, he will not be returning home with his third NBA Most Valuable Player title. The current front-runners for the prized MVP award are Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Nikola Jokic, and Luka Doncic.

But it seems like Curry isn’t going home with nothing. This comes following the official announcement that the Warriors talisman is a finalist for the NBA Most Clutch Player of the Year title.

The NBA revealed the candidates for all of its individual end-of-season awards on Sunday, and the Clutch Player of the Year title is one of them. It’s hardly surprising that Curry leads the way in what might be yet another trophy Curry adds to his impressive collection:

The player who “best comes through for his teammates in the clutch” wins the title of Clutch Player of the Year. The NBA is only giving this award for the second time, with De’Aaron Fox of the Sacramento Kings being the previous winner and the first recipient.

DeMar DeRozan of the Chicago Bulls and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander of the Oklahoma City Thunder are the other two contenders in this category.

DeRozan has made a name for himself as one of the most clutch players in the league these days with years of reliable play in the closing minutes of games.

Conversely, SGA has had a tremendous season, as seen by his inclusion in the MVP finalist race and his contention for the Most Clutch Player award.
