Outside of basketball, Luka Doncic has an affinity for automobiles. According to an article he wrote for the magazine “Esquire,” he already has thirteen pieces in his collection.
“This is private time. Everywhere I go, I drive. Sometimes I am out and about late at night. The point guard for the Mavericks, who begins his playoff series against the Clippers this Sunday, says, “In the summer, I like to drive by the sea.”
Among his collection of automobiles are a 1968 Chevrolet Camaro, a Lamborghini Urus, a Ferrari 812 Superfast, a Porsche 911 that he maintains in his home country, and his prized Apocalypse Hellfire 6×6. It is an 800-horsepower, six-wheeled beast that costs about 250,000 euros.
Doncic adds that he has been considering purchasing a nearly $3 million Koenigsegg Regera, but he has disregarded it because of size concerns—its 2.03 meters would make it awkward to wear.
With a salary of $40 million for this season, the Mavericks star can afford these luxurious cars that contrast with the first one he owned. When he turned 18 and just after getting his driver’s license, his mother gave him a red 600-like car. Even his teammates in the Real Madrid dressing room were amazed.
“I liked it so much that I had to borrow it to go for a ride with my kids through the streets of Madrid,” said Chapu Nocioni at the time.
