Concerning the Tema St. Nicholas Greek School
St. Nicholas does not get any financing from the state; it is solely funded by voluntary donations. On land given by the Tsakos Group, the first school building was constructed thanks to funding from the Maria Tsakos Foundation. With two classes, it opened in February 2012.
The school’s ground floor and basement, which currently house six classrooms, a library, and a computer area, are finished. 2018 saw the facility and equipment for the school canteen donated by Mytilineos SA, a Greek multinational firm, enabling 150 pupils to receive free daily meals from the school. Additionally, Mytilineos SA donated six rooms on the main building’s second floor in 2019; these rooms can house 120 students.
