The fourth child’s due date was painstakingly prepared by Stephen and Ayesha Curry.
The 36-year-old point guard for the Golden State Warriors and his 35-year-old actress wife took sure to avoid scheduling any events in July and August so it wouldn’t interfere with their debut at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, according to an interview that was published by the Associated Press on April 17.
The couple is expecting their fourth child together, and June will mark the arrival of their new family member.
Steph told the newspaper, “It was nice that we thought about it beforehand.” Knowing that the Olympics were a possibility, we actually would have chosen a different course of action if the scheduling hadn’t worked out during a particular fall month. So, happily, the Lord provided for us, and if all goes according to plan, I will be free this summer.
Steph’s inclusion in Team USA’s squad for the men’s basketball competition at the Summer Games was revealed earlier this week.
LeBron James, Devon Booker, Kevin Durant, Bam Adebayo, Joel Embiid, Tyrese Haliburton, Jrue Holiday, Kawhi Leonard, and Jayson Tatum are some of his other teammates.
Steph told AP News, “I wanted to play in the last two that I was eligible for,” in reference to his ambition to compete in the Olympics.
“I knew I wanted to do that,” he said, “watching guys that I’ve been competing against for the last ten years all have that experience win gold medals, watching three of my teammates (Kevin Durant, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green) win gold medals.”
Ayesha said that she and her spouse were expecting a child again in March.
The chef and novelist said that they “thought we were done” having children, but that they realized last year that “someone was missing” in a cover story for Sweet July Magazine.
Canon W. Jack, age five, and daughters Riley Elizabeth, age eleven, and Ryan Carson, age eight, have already made Ayesha and Stephen proud.
Ayesha talked candidly to PEOPLE last month about overcoming challenging symptoms in her fourth pregnancy.
“I’m feeling good,” the Irish Wish actress declared. “As the days go on, I feel a little better and better each day, I am lucky if I can get a whole meal down.”
