Colorado Avalanche fans were in for a surprise Tuesday night when Denver Nuggets superstar Nikola Jokić and his 2-year-old daughter Ognjena showed up to Ball Arena to watch a game against the Vancouver Canucks.
During the second period, the in-arena cameras shown on the Jumbotron panned to Jokić, whose daughter was clapping along as the crowd chanted, “MVP!”
What a special moment.
The star center of the Denver Nuggets showed his support for his sister KSE team, clapping and cheering with his daughter Ognjena.
Jokic has frequently attended Avs games, and since he was already employed in the building and only a few corridors away, it must have been simple for him to ask his boss for a glass seat. Jokic has also appeared at games for the KSE-owned Los Angeles Rams, an NFL team.
Jokic’s days in Denver must’ve gotten him into hockey a bit considering there’s only been one notable NHL player from his home country of Serbian—Ivan Boldirev.
The Avs are looking for their second-straight home win on Tuesday after a long tough road trip on the east coast.
