Even though the NBA Draft is just a month away, curiosity in Bronny James’ upcoming draft has reached a fever pitch level. On the pro day of the Klutch group, LeBron James Jr. was spotted at the Lakers facility after increasing his stock in the Chicago NBA combine. The James name had great attraction, as curious GMs, scouts, and NBA stars crowded the arena.
His dad was there, of course, as were Zach LaVine and Anthony Davis. It so happened that LeBron and AD had not been seen together since their first-round playoff elimination game. Rapper Cam’ron was also seen hanging about the courtside to get a look at Bronny.
In just one year with the USC Trojans, Bronny James averaged 4.8 points on 36.6% shooting in 25 games played. Considering his recovery from cardiac arrest he had last year, his minutes were limited. Though he was only projected as a second-round pick, his combined performance created some, if little, interest in the front offices. His draft position might therefore rise somewhat, but he will still be a second-round selection.
Bronny James Might Be Moving to the South Bay Lakers
Bronny and the Lakers reportedly spoke after the NBA Draft Combine in Chicago last week. Bronny has been considered a negotiating chip to keep LeBron James with the Lakers given his unclear future with the team.
Though James Jr. would most likely join the team’s G-League affiliate, the South Bay Lakers, according to Eric Pincus of Bleacher Report, the Lakers are still a possible destination. While a two-way deal makes sense in this case, there is still a potential the 19-year-old will be selected by another team.
