For Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo, one of the silver linings of being eliminated from the playoffs early on is the fact that he gets an extended summer vacation.
Don’t get it twisted. I’m 100% certain that Giannis would much rather be playing in the postseason right now, but at the same time, he’s not complaining about being able to spend more time with his family now that he’s free of his NBA obligations.
The former back-to-back MVP is currently in Berlin, Germany supporting his younger brother, Kostas Antetokounmpo, who plies his trade with Greek outfit Panathinaikos. On Sunday, Giannis was a proud big brother as he watched Kostas lift the EuroLeague trophy after a 95-80 victory over Real Madrid in the championship game.
A brief clip is currently making its rounds on social media wherein Giannis and Kostas are seen embracing on the sidelines shortly after Panathinaikos’ title win. In it, the Bucks superstar is seen wiping away tears in his eyes after the emotional moment with his kid brother
You love to see it.
Given that the Bucks are no longer in the NBA championship hunt, Giannis was obviously not going to miss his brother’s championship game in Europe. This season, at least, one Antetokounmpo brother will have taken home the title of champion.
