Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs watched Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals between the Dallas Mavericks and the Minnesota Timberwolves from courtside.
Travis Kelce looked shocked as Dallas Mavericks fans booed him at an NBA playoff game
Kelce was joined by Patrick Mahomes (L) and new Chiefs receiver Marquise ‘Hollywood’ Brown
But the American Airlines Center was not nice to Kelce, booing him when he appeared on television.
Kelce appeared surprised; whether he was fake shock is up to the observer.
When Mahomes, a suburban Dallas native, appeared on the jumbotron, he was applauded and cheered.
With 12 minutes left in the second quarter, the Chiefs quarterback stood up and spun around to cheer on the crowd.
This was less than 24 hours after Kelce visited Dallas to watch the Dallas Stars, the other tenant at the American Airlines Center.
Dallas was hosting Edmonton in the NHL’s Western Conference Finals, and Kelce, a former peewee hockey player, was savoring every moment.
Mahomes even mocked Kelce, urging him to ‘get out of my arena’.
Patrick’s wife, Brittany Mahomes, and new Chiefs WR Marquise ‘Hollywood’ Brown were also present.
All four of them were treated to a thrilling game that went down to the wire in Dallas, with the Mavericks pulling away for a 116-107 victory and a commanding 3-0 series lead against Minnesota.
Following the game, Mahomes tweeted, “Atmosphere was crazy tonight!” [Fire Emojis] Go @dallasmavs!!!!
Dallas’ Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving both scored 33 points and shot at least 50 percent from the floor.
Doncic even received an embrace from Kelce, who caught up with the star guard toward the end the game.
Meanwhile, Minnesota was led by Anthony Edwards’ 26-point performance on a night when the Timberwolves struggled from beyond the arc. Karl-Anthony Towns struggled, shooting eight three-pointers and missing them all.
Dallas finished with a 12-3 run to win its fifth playoff game in a row after rookie center Dereck Lively II departed with a sprained neck.
Towns’ knee struck Lively in the back of the head by accident.
No club in NBA playoff history has recovered from a 3-0 deficit. Game 4 is scheduled for Tuesday night in Dallas.
P.J. Washington began the decisive run with a corner 3-pointer after Doncic passed to Irving, who then transferred the ball to Washington.
The co-stars took over from there.
Doncic sank a shot in the lane for a four-point lead, Irving enthralled the crowd with a falling-down jumper, and Doncic found Daniel Gafford for an alley-oop dunk for a 113-105 lead with 34 seconds left after Gafford blocked Mike Conley’s basket attempt on the opposite end.
