It is no secret that guard Luka Doncic of the Dallas Mavericks has been experiencing pain while competing in the postseason. Warming up for Game 2 of the NBA Finals against the Boston Celtics made that abundantly evident.
Doncic was observed having bandages applied to several different body areas. The Mavericks star borderline appeared to be a child dressed for Halloween as a mummy.
Doncic wore the bandages until just before the game.
Doncic has been coping with a sore knee in addition to back problems. During one point in Game 1, Doncic was applying pressure to his leg and could be seen to wince in agony. Prior to Game 2, on Saturday, the Mavericks star was also observed pulling at his rib cage during team practice.
However, Doncic had little to no symptoms of an injury once the game started. Almost half of his team’s points were scored in the first half by the superstar from Slovenia.
After two quarters, Doncic scored 23 points, grabbed three rebounds, and dished out three assists on 9/13 shooting from the field, helping the Celtics lead 54-51 at the half.
To provide their opponents a greater opportunity to take advantage of their injuries, teams frequently attempt to conceal the extent of their players’ injuries. It is possible, though, that Doncic and the Mavericks were doing the opposite, giving the impression that he is more wounded than he really is.
