The NBA Finals saw the Dallas Mavericks play Game 3 without their main star.
Luka Doncic fouled out late in the fourth quarter of Thursday’s game against the Celtics while defending Jaylen Brown. Brown was headed for the hoop when Doncic stepped in his way and appeared to draw a charge that would have given Dallas the ball.
Doncic was called instead for his fourth foul of the fourth quarter. Doncic did not establish position with both feet on the ground, according to referees, hence Jason Kidd’s protest to the call was dismissed.
Dallas battled on in the tight game, but it had to go four minutes without Doncic on the floor. In all, Doncic scored 27 points, grabbed six rebounds, and made six assists.
