‘We couldn’t play physical’ – Luka Doncic reacts strongly to referees calls after being sent off in Mavericks’ loss to Celtics in Game 3

The Dallas Mavericks are in danger of going out of the NBA Finals after losing to the Boston Celtics in Game 3.

One of the biggest topics after the game was Luka Doncic fouling out with 4 minutes left with the Mavericks trailing by only 3 points.

“I mean… I don’t know. We couldn’t play physical,” Doncic said about the referee calls in the post-game conference. “I don’t want to say anything, but I don’t know… 6 fouls in the NBA Finals… Come on, man. Be better than that.”

For Doncic, it was only the 3rd time in his NBA career that he fouled out. Doncic also admitted he doesn’t recall receiving so many fouls in such a short span. The Mavs star got his last two personal fouls in less than 30 seconds.

“It never really happened to me. I don’t remember,” Doncic bluntly replied.

Despite being down by 21 points early in the 4th quarter, the Mavs went on a 20-2 run, crawling back into the game.

“Just playing with pace. We played good defense and with pace. Just driving and kicking. That’s how we came back to the game,” Doncic explained the reasons behind the run.

Game 4 of the NBA Finals is scheduled for Friday at 8:30 p.m. ET in Dallas.
