Giannis Antetokounmpo has done things that other players can’t even imagine. According to one of the NBA’s all-time greats, the Greek Freak is unique because he is always looking for ways to get better, even after all the things he has done.

When Hakeem Olajuwon worked out with the two-time MVP in Houston, he had nothing but respect for him.
Giannis keeps getting better.

It was “amazing” to Olajuwon that Antetokounmpo was always working to improve his game.

Giannis always tries to get better and raise his level of play, which is really cool to watch. Mark Berman says Olajuwon said, “That just says a lot about him, his work ethic, and his desire to be the best he can be.”

Olajuwon loved spending time with Giannis. He played in the NBA for 19 years, made 12 All-Star teams, won two titles, and won one MVP award.

It was an honour and a lot of fun to work with him because our backgrounds are similar—his parents are from Nigeria. We talked about many things, some of which involved basketball and some of which did not. As Hakeem put it, it was very pretty.

After a poor season last year, Giannis wants to do everything he can to help the Milwaukee Bucks win this year, so he worked out with Hakeem. 

A lot of people didn’t like how the Bucks shocked everyone by losing in the first round the previous season. Milwaukee made sure they would be in the playoffs by finishing the regular season strong. The Bucks had a tough playoff run, though. They lost to the eighth-seeded Miami Heat in just five games in the first round and couldn’t get past that point.
