MULTI-TALENTED MAN: NBA Star Giannis Antetokounmpo and Family Invest Big in Greek Wine Companies, Promoting Greek Products Globally

Giannis Antetokounmpo, an NBA player, and his gifted basketball family recently declared their intention to invest in reputable Greek wineries. Ten percent of the shares in Hellenic Wineries and Boutari Winery, two establishments with a century-long history each, will now be owned by the Antetokounmpo brothers.

Giannis Antetokounmpo declared, “I am thrilled about our investment and collaboration with Elias Georgiades,” expressing his happiness over the alliance and investment. Despite moving to the US to pursue NBA careers, the brothers have made the decision to preserve a portion of Greece and spread awareness of its splendour worldwide.

“Our aspiration is to introduce Greece’s exceptional products to wine enthusiasts worldwide, facilitating economic growth and cultural exchanges,” reads the joint statement.

As part of their joint venture in wine, the Antetokounmpo brothers’ global company portfolio, Ante Inc., will be purchasing shares of Hellenic Wineries. They most recently bought the natural mineral water company IOLI, and they had earlier bought Boutari Wineries in 2022.

His passion for Greek winemaking and agrobusiness will surely draw attention to antiquated wisdom and customs.

The Antetokounmpo family’s partnership is greatly appreciated by other investors in Greek wineries. The brothers’ involvement was acknowledged by Elias Georgiadis, CEO of Sterner Stenhus and significant shareholder in the winery.
