A video of Vinicius Junior fighting Reece James has gone popular, and fans have different thoughts on it.

Tuesday night, Chelsea’s second-to-last pre-season match was against Real Madrid, and they lost 2-1.

The European winners went up 2-0 in the first 30 minutes at the Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, USA. However, Noni Madueke scored just before halftime to tie the game.

In the second half, Enzo Maresca’s team couldn’t find a way to tie the game. They finished their tour of the USA with three losses, one draw, and one win.

Chelsea fans won’t be too worried about the score—losing 2-1 to Madrid isn’t a big deal, especially in a pre-season friendly—but one moment from the game has caused a lot of disagreement on social media.

Fans can’t decide who won the fight between Brazilian superstar Vinicius Jr. and Chelsea captain Reece James in a video that went popular on X.

As he cut inside and went for goal, the Madrid winger looked like he had the Chelsea full-back fooled.

But as the candidate for the Ballon d’Or tried to slot the ball past Filip Jorgensen, the Chelsea custodian, James was able to grab the ball and send it to Jorgensen.

Though it’s hard to tell from the video, it looks like the defence also hit Vinicius.

The video was shared by a Madrid fan with the comment “Somebody’s captain,” which made it sound like Vinicius beat James in the end.

“No right-back has ever passed the Vinicius Jr. test,” said another fan.

People who follow Chelsea thought their captain got the best of the tricky midfielder when he said those things.
