Andre Onana saved just ONE of Man City’s EIGHT penalties after ‘toying’ with Erling Haaland and co in the Community Shield shootout – as the Man United goalkeeper’s goal-line antics proved futile at Wembley

After witnessing Andre Onana’s attempts at mind games during the Community Shield shootout, Manchester United supporters were left looking wow.

Andre Onana tried his best to get into the head of Erling Haaland

The Red Devils lost 7-6 at Wembley on penalties after missing opportunities in their 1-1 draw with Pep Guardiola’s team.

After Jonny Evans’ attempt went over the crossbar, Manuel Akanji scored the game-winning penalty kick to spare the champions from losing to the FA Cup winners at Wembley for the second time in a row.

But his efforts perhaps didn't quite work, after saving just one in eight City spot-kicks

With ten minutes left in normal time, Alejandro Garnacho, a United replacement, seemed to have won it with a magnificent solo goal.

But Man City recovered, and in the 89th minute, a header from Bernardo Silva gave them an equalizer, forcing penalties.

Red Devils goaltender Onana was seen making every effort to dissuade Erling Haaland and a few of his teammates during the spot kicks.

Stepping to his right, the Cameroonian ace pointed to the vast area to his left, perhaps daring the Norwegian ace to attempt a shot there.

The ice-cold Haaland strode forward to take his kick, and Onana, who had only saved Silva’s first penalty, kept throwing his arms in that direction.

The United goalie dived the other way, and Haaland slotted home in the direction he was gesturing, so his theatrics did not have the anticipated impact.

This is in response to Onana’s conviction for engaging in similar behavior during United’s exhibition preseason penalty shootout loss to Arsenal in Los Angeles last month.

Onana’s footage was uploaded to social media right away, sparking conversation among her followers.

“Onana has to drop this gimmick man,” someone commented.

Someone else said: “The biggest clown in the football history – Onana.”

Another said, “He told us to expect new things!”

“Bro, why does Onana keep doing this to us?” was the reply from a fourth.

One more person said, “He always likes to drop meme every matchday.”
