Arsenal line up late move for ‘LIGHTNING QUICK’ PL star, it’s a Trossard-type signing

With the assurance that they are more than prepared to contend for the Premier League title once more, Arsenal wrapped up their preseason training on Sunday night.

Even though they had a mixed record while touring the USA, they returned home and easily defeated Bayer Leverkusen, the undefeated Bundesliga Champions, before taking on Lyon this coming weekend.

A few days prior, Granit Xhaka made a miserable return to the Emirates Stadium as their team was defeated 4-1 thanks to goals from Oleksandr Zinchenko, Leandro Trossard, Gabriel Jesus, and Kai Havertz.

The fact that Trossard played almost the entire ninety minutes over the midweek may have been intriguing. Although the Belgian did not perform well at Euro 2024, by the conclusion of the previous season, he had established himself as Mikel Arteta’s first choice on the left side.

He has been an excellent addition for Arsenal, who could pull off another Trossard trick this summer. He scored 17 goals in 2023–2024.

Brighton forward wants to sign with Arsenal

The Gunners and Seagulls have had a lot of business together recently. They brought in the aforementioned Trossard during the winter transfer window of 2023, and they also signed Ben White for £50 million back in 2021.

However, during the same transfer window, Moises Caicedo attempted to force his way out of the Amex, which soured things a little. Caicedo submitted a transfer request, but he stayed with Brighton—at least until the summer—because Arsenal refused to pay the necessary amount.

What is the current state of the connection between the two clubs? Was it possible for them to conduct business once more? They might have to, though.

Insider from Arsenal This past weekend, Teamnewsandtix revealed that the North Londoners are among the teams that may attempt a late bid for Simon Adingra, an Ivorian winger.

They are reportedly keeping an eye on his circumstances in preparation for a potential raid before the transfer window ends. The player is presently valued at £26 million by Transfermarkt, but as we all know, Brighton only sells for top dollar.

Why signing Adingra would be wise

Arsenal made every effort to pry Mykhailo Mudryk from Shakhtar Donetsk during the winter of 2023. The player eventually joined Chelsea, the team that was willing to pay the most amount of money, despite being quite outspoken about his adoration for the squad on social media. Here’s a surprise for you.

Trossard has been a fantastic addition to the Emirates when Edu opted to entice him there.

Though he wasn’t the team’s first pick, he was on fire as soon as he joined, dishing out ten assists in his first 20 league games. He transformed from a supplier to a goal scorer last season, finishing as Arsenal’s second most productive player. Bukayo Saka’s 20 goals was the only one to surpass his total of 17.

Thus, it makes sense to sign players from Brighton, right? Their scouting network is very good at producing consistently excellent Premier League players from the Trossards and Adingras of this planet.

However, what could he actually bring to the Gunners? Well, first and foremost, Adingra would add depth in an area Arsenal are currently lacking.

Capable of playing on either flank, the 22-year-old would be able to play second fiddle not only to Trossard on the left but vitally to Saka on the right.

The England international is the football club’s poster child, but he plays far too many minutes, and at the end of the previous season, the 2023–24 campaign finally caught up to him, causing him to miss the final game due to injury.

Therefore, it would be wise to sign someone like Adingra. The AFCON winger, in the words of Arsenal podcaster Adam Keys, would not be a “marquee signing,” but he possesses several fascinating attributes, most notably his “lightning pace.”

The Brighton player got progressive passes at a rate that placed him among the top 13% of players with similar positions in the Premier League the previous season. To put it briefly, he’s a reliable choice for a pass. Like Saka, it is evident that this player enjoys attacking his opponent, as evidenced by his rating in the top 15% for carries into the penalty area. But this isn’t a player without objectives. During the 2022–2023 season, he scored 15 goals while on loan at Union Saint-Gilloise in Belgium.

On the evidence above, Adingra is certainly no world-beater yet but he does have an interesting set of tools. He can beat a player, he’s keen to get into the penalty area and something Arteta will no doubt be fond of, he mucks in defensively too.

Arsenal have been linked with some premium wingers this summer, notably Nico Williams, but in a market where attacking players will cost a fortune, Adingra could be a cost-effective method for the club.
