De Jong will miss Euro 2024 with the Netherlands after suffering an injury ahead of the tournament. And El National recently reported that Barca want to sell the 27-year-old star. Currently, Los Blaugrana are having financial problems and are unable to recruit and register new players.

Frenkie de Jong was allowed to leave because coach Hansi Flick wanted to build a team to his liking after being appointed to replace Xavi.

De Jong joined Barca for £64m in 2019. He has had his ups and downs at Camp Nou, especially with the club’s serious off-field problems in recent years.

President Joan Laporta wants a good transfer fee for De Jong and is asking for £60m plus £8.5m in add-ons for the player. However, the new Man United transfer department may not be willing to pay that fee. United’s initial offer of £42.7m was rejected.

De Jong is currently a high-paid player at Barca with a salary of 30 million pounds per season. De Jong’s salary will increase even more if he agrees to move to the Premier League. This will be a factor to convince De Jong to come to Old Trafford.
