In 2021, the 49-year-old former player for Arsenal and England put up a £25 million advertisement for the Grade II-listed townhouse in Chelsea, West London.
Sol Campbell has slashed the price of his Chelsea townhouse
The six-storey mansion boasts eight bedrooms
The house also contains its own cinema and library
In October of last year, Sol Campbell and Fiona Barratt attended the Sporting Equals awards.
He initially reduced the six-story house’s price in September 2022 after he was allegedly conned out of £1.5 million in rent.
Sol was forced to go to court and request an eviction notice from the renter because they had not paid their rent.According to reports, he has owned the house since 2004, when his then-wife Fiona Barrett, an interior designer, totally renovated it.
But now, three years after the property was put up for sale, Sol has dropped the asking price to £15 million.
Together with the six bedrooms in the main house, this spectacular property also has a second, two-bedroom mews house that is accessible via an underground passageway.
It features amazing views of the River Thames and the Albert Bridge, as well as a drawing room, cinema, library, kitchen, and lift.
The property is advertised with Knight Frank and is described as “a Grade II listed townhouse, overlooking the river, that has been extensively refurbished and excellently interior designed to create an elegant and substantial London home.”
This is a private, safe home that provides discretion and a sense of peace all around. It has secure gated entry from the front, a walled garden, and additional protection from the mews house at the back.
The townhouse is located on the posh Cheyne Walk street, which was once home to Mick Jagger, George Best, and Keith Richard, according to The Mirror.
The football player and his former home, nevertheless, had a tense history. He had previously played for Tottenham Hotspur, and in 2008 he won the FA Cup with Portsmouth.
Sol was enraged over a rent dispute with a tenant that occurred two years earlier.
He claimed to have received a deposit and three months’ rent from a man who had just sold his insurance company for £1 billion, but he never received any additional funds.
Sol stepped down from playing and went on to manage Southend and Macclesfield.
But in addition, he and his wife Fiona run a wonderful property empire worth an incredible £50 million, and they also own their own furniture firm.
Apart from the Chelsea townhouse, there are rumours that he also owns the nine-bedroom, Grade II-listed Hallington Hall in Northumberland and an opulent penthouse flat in West London.
To gain their opinions, we have spoken with the representatives of the former football player.
