After scoring for England, Jack Grealish celebrated with a sweet dance that included his girlfriend Sasha Attwood. Attwood had just given birth to their daughter the day before.
After 18 minutes, Grealish scored England’s first goal against Finland in a Nations League match in Helsinki. He then turned to the cameras.
After he reached his goal, he sucked his thumb as a tribute to the birth of his first child.
Attwood and Grealish had their daughter Mila Rose at the end of September, but they didn’t make the news public until last week on social media.
Grealish, 29, said that the birth of his daughter was the “best moment” of his life. He spent several hours with her before playing for City against Newcastle at St. James’ Park.
Having scored his first goal since becoming a dad, he made a special party at the Helsinki Olympic Stadium to mark the event.
Grealish was asked if he had a plan for what he would do if he scored. He said, “Yeah, to be fair I’ve half thought about it for a while, I just haven’t been able to score yet.”
“Of course I scored for England, but there was so much going on at the time, and it was against Ireland, that I forgot all about it.” ‘Maybe next time.’
A short time after their baby girl was born, both Grealish and celebrity Attwood shared a cute black-and-white picture of her holding his finger.
Attwood is Grealish’s childhood friend, and they have been together for 10 years.
Last year, when he won his second Premier League title, Attwood celebrated with him on the field. She was also there when they won the Champions League in 2023.
Grealish said that being left off England’s team that went to the Euro 2024 final was an error after he had been cut by Gareth Southgate.
Grealish, who was brought back into the team by temporary manager Lee Carsley, said, “To be honest, I didn’t really agree with it.”
She said, “I believe you need some balance in every part of the field.”
“Players like Phil Foden, Anthony Gordon, and Jarrod Bowen, who are in the same position as me, have scored a lot of goals.” I know, though, that my game is more than just goals. I do a lot more for the team than just score goals.
