He did, however, pause to answer a call from Noah Ohio, a former teammate from their days playing for the England Under-16 group.

Ohio was a footballer for Utrecht in the Netherlands and was traveling abroad to represent his nation.

When Ohio and part of the Dutch squad visited a children’s hospital, Ohio asked a young patient who his favorite player was.

The child said Bellingham, Ohio in response, and Ohio suggested the two phone the Real Madrid player.

Following his team’s 2-1 loss to Greece on Thursday, Bellingham pulled out his phone and FaceTimed Ohio and the kid to check in on their well-being.

Following his interpretation, Ohio raised his phone and told the child to line up next to Bellingham, who raised his thumb, so they could take a photo.

Bellingham, 21, donated his England jacket before the March match against Belgium in order to provide warmth for a child in a wheelchair. He consequently frequently makes the effort to look out for children.

Former Birmingham coach Mike Dodds, who coached Bellingham, described the midfielder as “just a magnificent human being, he’s a role model not just for the young kids in Birmingham, but now the nation.”
