Florian Plettenberg says that Manchester City is very interested in attacking midfielder Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen and could fight with Bayern Munich to sign him.
According to the story, Bayern has made Wirtz their top target for the summer of 2025 and is ready to spend a lot of money to get him. But Manchester City might be able to get him because Bayer Leverkusen wants to sell him to a team outside of Germany instead of a Bundesliga rival.
Still, Fichajes says that Paris Saint-Germain is very interested in Wirtz and is ready to spend up to €150 million to get him.
Bayer Leverkusen has made it clear that it does not want to sell its star player. The German club prizes Wirtz for both his skill and his ability to improve.
Should the 21-year-old decide to leave, Bayer wants him to be their all-time top signing, beating Kai Havertz’s €80 million move to Chelsea in 2020.
Real Madrid has also been linked with Wirtz, but Plettenberg says that Manchester City has made the most serious attempts of any foreign club to sign the German player.
