Giannis Antetokounmpo provided a candid breakdown after his team’s 119-108 loss to the Boston Celtics. The Milwaukee Bucks were among the East favorites going into the 2024–25 season, but they haven’t lived up to the lofty expectations. The Bucks lost to the Celtics at the TD Garden on Monday, giving up a first-half lead and falling to a 1-3 season record.

During a postgame interview, Giannis was asked about the team’s sluggish start to the year. The two-time NBA MVP also spoke about the coaching and the team’s approach moving forward.

“We did a lot of things good tonight. I think we had a very good film session this morning and seeing where we are trying to make this team go. Had a great film session with coach Doc last night. We going to continue to have just to be on the same page of how we want to set the table for the team,” said Antetokounmpo.

The comments come just one day after the Bucks’ 115-102 loss to the Brooklyn Nets where Giannis Antetokounmpo questioned the team’s lack of identity and seemed to take a dig at head coach Doc Rivers.

“Right now, we don’t have an identity,” said How are we going to win the game? Are we going to defend for 48 minutes? Are we going to move the ball for 48 minutes? Are we going to attack? We’ve gotta find an identity. We don’t have that right now.” said Antetokounmpo.

Following the latest defeat against the Celtics, Antetokounmpo also expressed his frustration with the results so far this season:

“At the end of the day it was some steps toward the right direction but for me that is now enough. You want to win games.”

The Bucks have now lost three games in a row and opponents are averaging 119 points against Doc Rivers’ team. Milwaukee will travel to Memphis to face the Grizzlies in their next game, followed by back-to-back games against the undefeated Cleveland Cavaliers.
