It is said that Barcelona wants to sign Mohamed Salah when his deal with Liverpool ends in the summer.
On Saturday, Salah scored the game-winning goal in a comeback win over Brighton. The next afternoon, he wrote on X, “No matter what happens, I will never forget what scoring at Anfield feels like.”
Some fans saw that as a sign that he might be going this summer, since the 32-year-old’s contract ends at the end of this season.
He has already said that this is his “last season at the club,” so this is the second time he has talked about his future in public.
So, news sources in Spain say that Barcelona could join the race to sign the Egyptian. They tried to sign him before, in 2022.
Sport says that the Egyptian winger is willing to try something new and likes the idea behind the Barcelona project.
The news source says that Barcelona’s top target is Nico Williams, a winger from Athletic Bilbao. However, Salah has been added to the list in case they can’t get Williams.
When Xavi was in charge of rebuilding Barcelona two years ago, the former manager suggested that Liverpool star Salah be signed.
At the time, they weren’t able to sign the Egyptian, but he has stayed a possible target as Barcelona has grown over the past few years.
It is true that Salah’s future is uncertain, but there have been no signs that he is leaving for good.
Arne Slot recently said, “You understand (the post) in a way that other people might not.” The good thing about me is that I don’t look at my players’ Instagram posts; I just talk to them.
“Mo is doing great right now. He’s been doing great since he joined Liverpool.” I hope he posts one again after tomorrow and on Saturday. It’s more important how he plays and talks to people than how you guys understand his posts.
Salah joined Liverpool in 2017 and has scored an amazing 220 goals in 364 games since then.
Among other things, he has won the FA Cup, the Premier League, and two League Cups.
Liverpool is also worried about the futures of some of their other stars, like Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold, whose contracts are coming to an end this year.
