Now that the season is over, and news has spread that Jurgen Klopp wants to make three deals by the end of June, it looks like Liverpool is moving quickly this summer.
Speaking of which, it looks like Alexis Mac Allister will soon be a Liverpool player as it has been said that his deal with the club runs until 2028. Reports say that the Reds are now moving on to defense with plans to sign a big star player this summer.
According to the Daily Mail, Liverpool has made an offer to buy the French defender Jules Kounde. However, Barcelona wants £52 million to stop the sale.
It would be great for The Reds to sign this player if it turns out to be true. Kounde moved from Sevilla to Barcelona for £46 million last year after being linked with a move to Chelsea many times. Reports say the player doesn’t like being played out of position and has asked to leave. Barcelona’s finances were already bad, and they got even worse when they didn’t make it out of the UEFA Champions League group rounds this season. Barcelona needs to sell players to get their finances in order and follow Financial Fair Play (FFP) rules.
The story from The Daily Mail comes after one from the Spanish newspaper Nacional earlier this week, which said Kounde had “formally requested his request to change scenery” after only one year at the Camp Nou. Nacional says that Liverpool and Manchester United are once again interested in Kounde. The newspaper says that the player is “not motivated by the project” and “feels cheated” because he was told that he would play center back.
